I work in this trade, and I run a small business in it.
Agnew Digital exists because the firms that look after families best are often the ones least comfortable talking about themselves.
Someone who has done the job, building websites for the people who do it now.
I am Cameron. I am a funeral director in Wiltshire, arranging services, meeting families in their own front rooms, filling in the same paperwork you do. Agnew Digital is my own business, built in the evenings alongside full-time work. So you will not have to explain the trade to me, and I know what it is to be the person who does everything and answers for all of it.
"I have sat across from a grieving family on the worst day of their year. I have filled in a standardised price list because the law requires it. Most agencies building these websites have done neither."
Cameron Agnew, Agnew Digital
One trade, properly understood, rather than every trade badly.
I could take on anyone. I would rather know one trade well enough that you never have to explain it to me.
The rules are not optional
The Funerals Market Investigation Order 2021 sets out exactly how and where your prices must be published. A general web designer will not know to ask. I build to it from the first draft rather than fixing it after somebody notices.
Families arrive under real pressure
Somebody landing on your website may be hours from a death. They are not browsing. Every decision about layout and wording should reduce what they have to think about, not show off.
Independent does not mean second-rate
Independent firms are routinely sold template websites at bespoke prices. A family firm that has served a town for forty years deserves the same design attention as any national group, and usually has a far better story to tell.
A few principles that don't change from project to project.
Straight answers about time and money
Prices are published and quoted in writing before anything starts. If something turns out harder than expected, you hear it from me the day I know, not in an invoice at the end.
Compliance from the first draft
Price list placement, data handling and accessibility are part of the brief on day one, not a checklist run the night before launch.
One person, start to finish
You deal with me. There is no account manager and nobody to pass you to. That is the whole point of a one-person business.
Nothing that shouts
No pop-ups, no urgency banners, no chat window chasing people down the page. If a website I build feels like it is selling at a grieving family, I have built the wrong thing. I will say so before you have to.
Want to talk it through?
One conversation, an honest answer, and no chasing afterwards.
